What Is Pokémon Sleep, and How Could It Help Regulate

If you love gaming so much that you wish you could do it in your sleep, then Pokemon Sleep might be the perfect game for you. Many of us have irregular sleep schedules and struggle to maintain healthy sleep patterns. Pokémon Sleep aims to change that and make sleeping a more enjoyable experience.

By turning sleeping into a game, there’s a good chance that Pokémon Sleep can turn people’s sleep cycles from a chore into something that players can look forward to doing.

What is Pokemon Sleep?

There are tons of apps that aim to improve your circadian rhythm for better sleep, and now The Pokémon Company has developed its own spin on the concept. Pokémon Sleep is a mobile game set for release on iOS and Android devices. Some of the main characters are Professor Neroli and of course, the sleepiest Pokémon of all, Snorlax.

Essentially, you enter your sleep information into the app right before you go to sleep. The app measures your sleep cycle and categorizes it into three different sleeping styles. Doze, doze and doze.

When you wake up in the morning, Pokémon that share the same sleeping pattern you had the night before will gather in your game for you to catch. Each Pokémon has several different sleeping styles, and like all Pokémon games, your main goal is to catch them all.

How can Pokémon Sleep help me improve my sleeping pattern?

The main mission of the game is to make the user more interested in sleeping. By getting a good night’s sleep, you’ll attract better Pokémon. It is essentially providing an incentive or reward for getting a better night’s sleep.

As it stands, some people are less likely to work on improving their sleep schedule because there is no driving force behind doing so. Many Pokémon games are almost addictive in nature, and the drive to complete your Pokédex is undeniable. Pokémon Sleep gives players a reason and motivation to finally start working on their sleeping patterns.

Just as writing down your budget can help you save money, a visual representation of the quality of sleep you’re getting each night can also make you more aware of the reality of your sleep patterns.

This will undoubtedly be one of the easiest Pokémon games to master, since all you have to do to play it is fall asleep. But despite its difficulty, the game’s positive intentions could make it the next best Pokémon companion app for mobile devices.

The game also comes with an optional controller in the form of the Pokémon Go+. It’s a small Poké Ball-shaped object with a button in the center. Instead of taking out your phone and logging into the app to enter sleep data, you can just push the button.

These types of controllers are always optional, but it does make the process a little easier, and the lullaby that Pikachu sings when it’s time to sleep will be adorable. You can also use it to play Pokemon Go. So if users play both the games frequently, then buying a controller becomes more worthwhile.

When can I get my hands on Pokemon Sleep?

Pokémon Sleep was originally planned for release in 2020, but has since been pushed back. It hasn’t received a concrete release date yet, but it is estimated that the game will hit the virtual shelves of the App Store and Google Play Store sometime during the summer of 2023.

On the other hand, Pokémon Go+ has a solid release date. It will release on July 14, 2023. The alternate controller has multiple uses and can be used to spin Poké Stops and catch Pokémon in Pokémon Go, so more than likely that’s the reason why it will be released before Pokémon Sleep.

A good night’s sleep may be just one Pokémon game away

The Pokémon Company is committed to offering games that also encourage healthy behavior. Pokémon Go inspires players to move and move around more, and now Pokémon Sleep is designed to help users improve the way they sleep.
