Millie Mackintosh Decides To Take Medication After Finding Therapy ‘Triggering’

Millie Mackintosh has decided to get medication for her anxiety problems. Social media has been a place for her to openly discuss her mental health concerns The 33-year-old actress admits to feeling “trapped” at some moments.

“I have suffered from anxiety for most of my life, and have found useful tools to manage anxiety,” wrote Millie – who has Sienna two, and Aurelia eight months old along with her TV-star spouse Hugo Taylor – on Instagram. “However since the lockdown and becoming a mommy, I noticed that my anxieties (particularly anxious about social situations) began to take over, taking over my thoughts, causing me to feel stuck.”

“I began therapy to find out the root of my anxiety and that meant revisiting some difficult memories during my teenage years hoping to help to ease some of the tension and anxiety. Instead, I discovered it was very triggering and I became more anxious than I had ever been.”

“After some thought and discussions with my therapist, we decided to take a small dosage of medication prescribed to me and continuing my therapy be the most effective option at the moment. (sic)”

Millie initially was hesitant to admit the need for assistance in their mental well-being. The TV actress was once married to the rapper Professor Green – has always recommended others seek help from a professional, but she was hesitant to follow her own advice initially.

She wrote “Although I was aware that this was the right choice but I was unable to confess to myself and my friends and family members that I needed this type of assistance. I always encouraged and help my family and friends on their own personal mental health struggles, however, it’s a different story when you’re the one who is in need. (sic)”
